No summaries posted as of 11/17, 9:30 pm, so I guess Pat is still talking.

I guess it's my turn :-)

I'm never sure what is for public consumption but I believe this is all good :-)

1.) Humphries got tweaked in the first bout at Spooky Nook. I don't believe it had anything to do with a scorere's table. He is back on the mat and should be ready to go on Sunday.

2.) McGonagle is also back on the mat. Expect his return sooner than later but of course there is always the matter of winning the 141# slot from Moran.

3.)Ruth is in the transfer portal so let's put that rumor to rest.

4>) Pat and staff are well aware that there are areas to work on. Spooky Nook was one way of charting where those issues are for each wrestler.

5.)As we know, there are a lot of HWTs in the room. What I didn't know is that almost all of them are about 260# and above.

6.)There apparently is a new rule change with regard to combining wrestling scholarships with need based/ academic aid etc that takes affect this year giving the staff a lot more flexibility.

I'm old. That is all I can remember for now

Nice job, Tom, thanks; my guy attended and noticed nobody recited the former years' request that all of it stay private. All good, it seems, except for a rare weight cut issue; too soon not as good as staying on schedule. I don't usually chastise someone for doing something too soon but what do I know? My two cuts for IMs weren't smart: 10 lbs in 3 hrs as freshman; 16 lbs in 4 days in soph year. The latter was way harder due to length of time holding it down.

Disappointing that Edmund is transferring. Guessing he lands at NC State.

Like Mookie says, Ruth is disappointing, not surprising though. Interesting that one needs to use the portal when effectively, not on the roster for two semesters.

6 could be interesting, except I really don't understand the rules in: Olympic sports, Football, Bktball. (Actually I get the impression BKTball get 13 free rides (women 14), and anyone else gets no aid of any type????)

Nothing on GG? Maybe that has to be Mute until after Lehigh-Laf

Don't expect Garcia to wrestle this year. Pat did mention that he had him in practice for 2 weeks over the summer.

I think he said that Gage was really tough to wrestle style-wise. Combination fo speed, strenght and I suspect some funk.

He still loves football and wrestling.

I hope your answer is somewhere in there :-)

BTW, I always thought that the transfer portal was pretty much a Craig's List for college athletes, except that the commodity they are selling is themselves. You may see more of that with the new NIL rules with athletes selling themselves to the highest corporate bidder. This is a whole new world with recruiting and some schools are better at it than others.

PSU backups beating Army 11-7 at intermission/halftime/whatever.....so far 2 starters have wrestled for PSU out of 5....

Didnt want to start a whole new thread for it, just thought it was interesting

Update: PSU has now wrestled 4 BackUps out of 6 weights and leads Army 14-7

Starocci wrestles 174 so PSU up 19-7

Brooks wrestles so 23-7

Dean wrestles so 28-7

Kerkvliet wrestles so final score 32-7
