This weekend is Escape The Rock in Bucks County. Remember seeing Malyke Hines there.

Kelvin Griffin, Hill School
Owen Quinn, Malvern Prep

Assuming no Caden Rogers as he was not on the pre-seed list.

Caden is 5th year senior so not eligible for non-prep school tournies

Thanks Gimp, I saw that he wrestled early December in the Germantown Duals and then in the Clarion tournament and then has disappeared. Any chance he is active elsewhere

Griffin in Semis this morning and Quinn is still working back through the consis.

Also, see that Rune Lawrence is in the semifinals as well. He has been having another great year. As is Dante Frinzi at Becahi

Griffin loses to the #1 seed and highly ranked kid from Beth Cath 7-3 in the final after getting pancaked. Griffin's tough on top, though.

>>>There has to be a middle ground between all the gory details and the Cone of Silence. The former is an unnecessary intrusion on privacy; the latter borders on pretending the issue doesn't exist. I don't think it violates Malyke Hines's privacy to respond to speculation that he's left school with an official "no, he's just dinged and we expect him back sometime soon"

1.) "We" mostly anonymous fans have a unique concept of what "we" believe are our rights as fans

2.) NFL PR- more valuable by billions than college wrestling and which publishes weekly injury reports- seems to work very hard on not identifying Covid infections, notably QBs; although the media tries to, aided by time-out policies. This year I've begun reading for the 1st time about athletes' rights to privacy.
Note: NYG's Daniel Jones sat out 2 games with no annct how long he'd be out - until it became permanent
Reason for no annct: they had no idea.

3.) None of us has any liability at all for violating athletes' rights; that's for sure. I didn't even learn of HIPA until Joe Sterrett very firmly explained it to me about a decade ago. My LUWN policy stopped ASAP. Even though LUWN isn't bound by Univ laws, where else would I have gotten the info?

4.) I did ask Pat to squelch the initial Hines rumor initiated online. A rumor made worse by the fact that athletes with good reputations now stand a chance to make money. He only specified 'dinged' and did not even publicly explain it, nor did I ask; I felt 'dinged' was encouraging enough.
LUWN said 12-23 that Malyke was 'still dinged' - and I think pro fans now realize return times from concussions are indefinite ("no idea') ... I'm not sure why Pat confirmed the concussion? Maybe he wanted to wait until he was fine ... maybe he was still a bit upset about the way he learned of the rumor; wanting full closure.
Feel free to have opinions but those are the facts as known from my partially inside role.
I do agree 100% that "it would be nice" if the program at least offered guestimates on how long someone may be out ... that's been commonly accepted for decades. I am definitely not in love with HIPA which came out of Congress, i.e. "The Buckley Amendment"

Owen Quinn wins championship at 160 in the Vanguard Invitational.

Remy Brancato wins championship at 190 in Bergen County Championships. Interesting to see him at 190 down from 215 earlier in the year.

Justin Orello takes 3’rd at 165 at the BCCA.

That's called the George Jockish Holiday now. (Not Memorial- I kid George about that)
