Very surprised if Crookham wrestles 141, especially after 2023. I saw him as the replacement for Humphreys.

Crookham is already pretty put together, unless he has a growth spurt i don’t see him putting on that much more muscle weight…. I would guess 149 tops for him… but obviously pure speculation

McGonagle needs to drop to 133 if he wants to be AA or seriously hit the weight room. Hines has great upside & is AA material. Crookham seems the most focused on strength/discipline to be AA early in his career.

He is a Troy Letters type blue chip stud recruit. He is not going to balloon up in weight unless he has no choice IMO.

Rune Lawrence looks like the real deal to secure in our camp as soon as he is eligible. Sean Kinney also looks to be the same caliber assuming he doesn’t outgrow 285 limit?

Agree on Pierce. Fans who favor otherwise are not tuned in. Programs recruit over guys all the time. We just did it with Crookham.

I see that Ryan Crookham is not competing in the Dapper Dan (wrestling classic, whatever you call it) this year.

The entry at 138 is the 138 AAA runner-up of Hempfield Greensburg. I assume RC turned them down. A 1 time Champ from AAA would normally get the call over a one time champ from AA. But not a AAA runnerup over a 3 time champ. Closeness to Pittsburgh and an interesting story, like Hasselrig, also become factors.

Me thinks McGonagle to 133 will never happen. Bryant to 165 may. Hines to 149 may. Lawrence to 174 already has. Remember, Lawrence had surgeries on his shoulders....needs more time to rehab fully. Best to be patient evaluating him. Garcia perhaps ready for next season -- a huge lift.

Yes, nationals start today, but does the season really ever end? Next year could be really terrific if weights and injuries get sorted out.

Can't see Hines at 149 for a couple years. Very lean body. Needs to get much stronger. Has great quickness. But he was getting horsed around this year.

Nice article on Pierce. Typical hard-nosed WPIAL guy with nice upside. My recollection was he was very physical and that's what gave Crookham some trouble.
