Surprising Performances
Surprising Performances
I thought Lehigh would be trounced by Pitt so big congratulations to Pat Santoro for bringing the heat. Can't say I can remember a similar performance in maybe forever. Big time shows by M. Hines, M. Bryant, B. Meyer, and J. Wood.
Loved seeing Phillipi get caught even if the call was a tad quick. Malyke wrestled really well and deserved to win that bout.
Some of these guys are actually damn good so it's nice to see them step up and deliver. Who knew that M. Bryant has another gear entirely?
Also, final confirmation that B. Meyer is the man at 165.
And finally, it was lovely hearing the Pitt heavyweight squeal like a pig. A well-deserved beating from Jordan.

Re: Surprising Performances
MB4 was awesome, the ankle pick off the opening whistle was lightening….when given choice he took neutral correct? I don’t remember him being in down position….. he’s a full sized 149 that’s for sure….

Santoro pointed out the reach back very clearly to Hines right before the pin. Hines on his back but on top of Phillipi had a straight line view to coach showing him what to do. Great coaching that you normally don’t notice that was very much noticed.
Re: Surprising Performances
Bump…not interested in the ongoing bag fight.
Re: Surprising Performances
I saw Brad calling for it- didn't happen to see Pat showing it but that was his move back in the day. When Malyke came up for the interview I told him that was a big Pat move and he was surprised. A minute or so later- Pat was talking with Hovan right next to me. I mentioned that to them and Scott said it was also his move. I asked if that was a Rande (Stottlemyer) thing and they told me it was their assistant John Hartupee's thing that he had them drilling every day.
