Although I never wrestled competitively, it seems to me that strength and tentativeness are inter-related.

Being tentative often times is a self-confidence issue and added strength is a way to overcome that issue. There tends to be a connection between the physical and mental aspects in almost all sports. Does this make sense?

At the Wrestling Club picnic, Malyke Hines and Jake Logan stood beside each other. They seem to be the same height. I had a tough time wrapping my head around the fact that they were 5 weight classes apart.

Trenge didn't much pump iron. wasn't he like a 1000 pushups a day guy.

Anyone know of a place with Magnesium or Aluminum weights, so I can look like I am lifting a lot?

MH is thankful that drd and spladle have put their differences aside and decided to peacefully co-exist on the board.

I can honestly say that there is no way I have done 1000 pullups in my lifetime- now beer curls is another matter. :D

Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone.

That’s what I remember, too, re Jon Trenge. Bodyweight training can be very effective.

Another example, Herschel Walker, although he had probably a one in a million body. Happy T-day to all!

**** First Happy Thanksgiving Day to all Forum Viewers, but especially to Our First Responders, Service Men and Women and All Lehigh Wrestlers, Coaches and Supporters.

There is a famous story of how Cary Kolat's Father set out to Build Himself a Wrestler. Cary had naturally short legs and a muscular upper body, which his father thought would be perfect for wrestling. The story goes his father made Cary do 100 sets of 100 pushups per night (10,000), before he was allowed to go to bed. I don't know if the story is true or not, Only Cary Knows for sure.

Blessings to All.
