Only to those that don't know Brandon. He had decided he wanted out at Rutgers around semester break. Suriano hadn't even gotten hurt yet at PSU. So if anything, Suriano decided after BP.
Suriano to Michigan

Thanks. Obviously I didn’t have that info.
Re: Suriano to Michigan
Mercenary. It's all about me.

>>>>>>> Unfair. I respect your opinion, BUT.....we don't know all that went into this decision. NIL? Training partners? Something else? If he had decided in Lehigh's favor, would the reaction be the same? Suriano made 125.5 for the O Trials -- so he's been down to weight in the past year. If he goes 125 it will make for an interesting season. These guys don't have a "pro" career after college so might as well maximize your opportunity while you can. This guy has competed hard, won a national title and to my knowledge never talked smack.

Re: Suriano to Michigan
I think from what I've read that most of the angst towards Suriano is more directed at the father and his ways than the actual kid wrestling. That said, the "kid" is now what, 23? So not so much a kid anymore........
Re: Suriano to Michigan
It's the ultimate double standard. College athletes get criticized for being selfish - college coaches get huge contracts. Obviously more so in football than other sports but the teenage athletes always get held to a higher standard than the adult coaches.
Re: Suriano to Michigan
He (or his father) is obviously demanding, or he wouldn't have bounced around like that. However, I never really remember anything bad about his tenure at Rutgers. Am I wrong?
And like Oracle intimated- we'd be dancing a happy dance if he had said Lehigh.

Rather follow the career of our original recruits. The 1yr rentals of late around the country don’t interest me so much. Hoping for a great year for Lane. Homegrown recruit. I guess you would sit him if Suriano had said yes?
Re: Suriano to Michigan
Do any of these gypsies bother to get an education at any of these stops?
Re: Suriano to Michigan
Education? Please. We have no idea about that. It's easy to assume transfers are "gypsies" or "non-academics" but we really have no idea. Should we delve into the personal academic records of these elite athletes? Does anyone question the academic qualifications of big time D1 football players? We assume they are all taking Basket Weaving 101 and maybe some are, but we don't know and shouldn't care as long as they perform.
1-year rentals are what it is these days, especially for Ivy wrestlers who can on to graduate school after their 4 years are up and use that last year of eligibility.
