I don't know about screaming at him. The room was loud at that point but I definitely saw them give the signal to him to cut him. Shocked me too. If he rode him out, we see OT.

that's counting his deferred year. official record would 23-28 after picking up 2 W's this weekend.

Brian only picked up one win this weekend. He fell short today.

Yes that included his deferred year and the "did not count" year. My MBA didn't adequately prepare me for keeping track of eligibility in this brave new world :-). Just trying to show that he has a style that keeps matches close, no matter the competition.

For a bit, I was thinking the same. Then it occurred to me that this just meant SV came earlier. He needed a td to win. And that's a long time to need to ride just to tie. Then you still need a td. And perhaps they knew he was getting tired.

I agree with what your sayinging if they had cut him earlier, but cutting him with 17 seconds left was way too late ….. he only had 17 seconds more to ride and he had Burkhart well under control at the edge when he suddenly decided to release him…. Even If Burkhart had managed to get close to getting loose Loew could have just taken the “action” out of bounds to get restart….

By the time he cuts him and they work back to center he’s basically got 14 seconds to get a takedown…not enough time to draw a second stall warning (believe Burkhart had a stall warning earlier from pushing out of bounds)…. It was just no man’s land and honestly a gift…..a gift well earned by Burkhart

Just watched the replay. Shortly before Burkhardt was cut, announcer said that Cornell was calling for a stalling call. Could be that when Loew looked over to the Cornell bench he misinterpreted their motions as a sign to cut Burkhardt.

Burkhardt was truly the MVP of the weekend and no longer appears to be an undersized 184 pounder. This kid was a NYState champ in 8th grade & perhaps has found his comfortable weight & has plenty of gas in his tank.

Hats off to Logan & McGonigle for Saturday performance but Burkhardt gets my accolades for his grit.

Off the Cornell Wrestling Forum

“Just a January dual but this was not a good look for Cornell. Note to Coach Grey - you don't need to complain about each and every call.

Oh, and next time try dressing up just a little bit. You looked like a schlub.”

“Just a January dual ”
Pre-match headline on Cornell's website: Wrestling Visits Lehigh Saturday In Battle Of EIWA Titans

Yeah, just another dual.

That comment was a Charliemunger Special. I think the thing about "just another dual" may have been ironic. I doubt Charlie is a Cornell fan because everything I see by him on the Cornell Forum seems intended to bust their collective balls.
