I honestly was shocked he was getting any swipes, did not look even look close to having necessary shoulder angle…. Was thrilled we got 2…. Not sure why you would throw brick…
Since the ref made his official call at the end of the period as no NF and an R2, you throw the brick in an attempt to get the NF (he did swipe). If the NF is awarded, there is no R2 since the match is restarted at the point of the corrected call. A successful challenge would have made the score 6-1, with a restart w about 5s to go in the 2nd. Hump on bottom to start the 3rd (w RT locked) makes a MAJ possible.

Your saying the ref took the two backs away before the challenge brick was thrown? Didn’t see it that way but would make more sense….

My guess is that Humphreys would have taken top in the 3rd with that large a lead.

Note that score was reset to 4-3 prior to the refs looking at the video.

There was all kinds of wavering and gesturing going on, but like i said that would make more sense….. but honestly those weren’t even close to back points…. Not sure what ref was doing/seeing….i would have had zero hope that he would be awarded points on review….

**** Overall disappointed. Lane needs to open up. Where is his counter offense? McGonagle needed to get out, lost not only his riding time but also the match, when it was winnable. I guess Bryant is still hurt. Otherwise pretty much as expected.

Thought Watkins and McMonagle wrestled good matches with losing results, have to believe McMonagle misunderstood situation because that ending was mystifying……

Wood and Humphreys also wrestled well, neither match really ever in doubt against solid opponents….Meyer had a nice win against OK State backup….

Fix is a beast, he just overpowered Hines…. Agreed Lane needs to get out of neutral in neutral….Davis and Burkhart just way overmatched at this point….Logan about what expected…
