Actually, from listening to Ryan Preisch at Detroit, Josh's situation reminded Ryan of Ryan.Spladle1989 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 9:36 am By the way none of that is a put down of Josh, the kid is a stud.....his situation reminds me of Ryan Preisch from a couple years ago, just needs to break thru.....if he wins his blood round match and AA's, he's capable of running the table........
New Line-Up

Re: New Line-Up
I have a smidge of inside information, plus my observations. Lots of things can happen, but the two locks in the lineup are Humphreys at 157 and Taylor at 285. Humph can still redshirt, but I figure at this stage that's not happening. And I think the staff really likes the idea of Lawrence at 174 going forward. So ....Asa Packer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 29, 2022 6:17 pm 125 Seymour

184 Burkhardt
197 Garcia
285 Taylor
Crookham to RS
I have no inside info, just throwing pasta at the wall...
125 Seymour or Bailey (I thought he looked pretty little in his bouts at 133).
133 Lane, Paetzell, or Crookham. Bailey in the mix if he can't make and hold 133. Lane can still redshirt, btw, but I figure yada, yada.
141 Hines, McGonagle, or Munch. Or Crookham, if he can't make 133. Or Paetzell, since we haven't seen him in a long time and he might have grown. Or Moran, who evidently will be back next year. Or Brignola, who I thought looked pretty little yada, yada; unless he redshirts.
149 Bryant, Moran, or Brignola.
157 Humphreys
165 Meyer or Logan. I think both guys would be better one weight down (McGonagle too, all because of lack of reach and leverage at the higher weights). But Humph blocks Meyer so it's probably not going to happen.
174 Lawrence; or Logan or Burkhart if Lawrence needs more development time.
184 Davis, Burkhart, or Caden Rogers
197 Garcia, Davis, or Eli Jones
285 Taylor

Re: New Line-Up
Ok, I'll weigh in one more time before fading into my workload finishing up LUWN Yr-Ender by 4-15
125- Seymour lifts a lot and cuts from 135 Sept weight; it's hard to get bigger at 5'1" (confirmed to me twice). FYI, his injury last bout at EIWA should be fine soon; I'm offering no details
133 >>>>Lane, Paetzell, or Crookham. Bailey in the mix if he can't make and hold 125. Lane can still r/s>>
...Can but won't, he said; he'll certify 125; compete at 133; since no one else backs up SS. No 125 lb Bailey
I sincerely wish fans would not manage other people's bodies; Wood led a massive increase in wt lifting, which worked for him; most starters lift a lot - pls give them time to grow. Ex: as of Jan, Woods' article in LUWN cited AJ walking around at 185. I asked AJ last Fri night ... "I'm 180 today"
...141- I hope Crookham goes 141; concussion histories nationwide (incl Nate Brown) suggest min cuts. Brown's last 2 yrs he certified 174; of course, some like D.Craig just dislike wt cutting. I'm sure struggling with mine
... Hines, McGonagle, Crookham is a lot of options; FYI, Hines has tried to gain wt and struggles with it.
...149 Bryant, Moran, or Brignola..... He'll be back but I doubt Bryant can make 149 in '23 ... he's either available or not available, according to the ('silly') laws. Try not to make stuff up even tho the damn law forbids an answer.
...157 Humphreys - bet on it, but who'd bet against you. Only option is r/s. He can wrestle '23 or '24, not 2 more
>>>165 Meyer or Logan. I think both guys would be better one weight down (McGonagle too, all because of lack of reach and leverage at the higher weights). But Humph blocks Meyer so it's probably not going to happen.
.... Sighhh. Ackk. Arrgh. You think? I know this is what fans do but how do you think parents feel reading this? Meyer lifts a shitload; he is jacked on 165 lb LU standards except Mark Dufresne (who placed ncaa 6 w/out ever beating 1 Top 10). Like Dillon, Vitale & other A/As in the past, Brian's working hard to improve his offense; Logan has a, well, never mind it's confidential but the medical details got my attn Fri nite.
These are real humans, students more than athlete with their own hurdles in the mat w/out adding to them
>>>> 174 Lawrence; or Logan or Burkhart if Lawrence needs more development time.
184 Davis, Burkhart, or Caden Rogers
197 Garcia, Davis, or Eli Jones
.... AJ also said he's shooting for 200 lbs by Summer ... not thinking 174 at all.
..... If Rogers went 220 at Nat Preps where's the logic to try 184??? Oh, yeah, 'cause fans would like that.

Re: New Line-Up
J Lane could likely wrestle in both '23 and '24. In 2018-19 he only wrestled 3 dates: Princeton open, Bing Open, and 2 bouts in Florida before appearing in a boot.
Re: New Line-Up
Why would a guy stay around that long?
Re: New Line-Up
If Lehigh's staff continues to allow their athletes to wrestle at weights where they are not competitive then they need to step aside.
Re: New Line-Up
Well, maybe it needed to be said.
I tend to agree with mookie on this more than Denny saying we "need to give them time to grow" -- it just doesn't work that way -- and we can't have it both ways. If we want to maximize the talent (and there is talent) then we can't have guys competing against a field of Power 5 teams that aggressively position their guys at weights that give them an advantage over us. The landscape has changed. For Lehigh to maintain the 'tradition' everyone keeps talking about, LU has to change with it. I am a fan of the current staff and have confidence they will figure it out.

Re: New Line-Up
Ask Jordan Wood.
I think we pretty much know why JT & MW did.
JL may think two healthy years puts him in the Greco-Roman mix
