**** A really sad note is The Brass Rail (Lehigh Street in South Allentown, almost to Emmaus), is closing for good in June. Their Cheesesteaks with X cheese, onions, sauce and pickles were always, my favorite along with an order of pierogies. I used to live 2 blocks from their location at 12th and Hamilton in Atown, in the early 80s, before it closed. I would stop to get 2 Ch. steaks and pierogies after coming off of 2nd shift at The Steel. Not the best idea, but they were that good. Then there is Seward's Steak Shop (South 17th St in Atown). Their cheesesteaks are almost as good as The Brass Rail.

Anyway, Yes you can tell it is the off season, as the conversation switches to food.

Word on the street is that the Transfer Portal is where athletes can find their new favorite cheese steaks
