Re: 5 for 2
Let’s hope Mookie is correct that McGonigle drops to 133 as he was clearly undersized this year at 141.
Have no idea who would prevail at 133 which is a loaded weight but sure wish we had some depth at 125 which appears to only be Seymour if Denny is correct about Lane & Bailey going at 133.
The losers at 133 will likely be our 141 challenger to Crookham assuming he can’t get to 133. Hopefully Crookham stays healthy at the college level as he can be a force with his talent & dedication.

There are several 125-pounders in the transfer portal. I'm sure the staff has been in touch; don't know if anyone wants to transfer to be a backup.

With all this talk about both McGonagle, Hines (and possibly Crookham) aiming at 133 -- are we sure Paetzell is also headed there? Logic says, if he has been medically cleared, he's headed back to 125 where he was #7 before they cancelled 2020 NCAAs. Why would a guy stay as long as he has, endured all he has endured just to be another top 20 guy at 133? That doesn't make sense to me.

Re: 5 for 2
Hope you are correct Oracle as I simply assumed Paetzel has grown out of that capability over the past couple years!!
He would be awesome at 125 & help open the logjam at 133 while having Seymour as a backup at 125 that can push Paetzel.
I like your thinking & hope you have some insights to support your hypothesis!!

Pure conjecture. Just trying to connect the dots here in the off season.
Re: 5 for 2
It’s beyond conjecture. Brandon has confirmed he’s going to try to wrestle 125. He can comfortably make 133 and he’s following his original formula of gradual descent to 125. It’s not a given but that’s his intent.
Re: 5 for 2
Well that is some interesting off-season info. Hope Brandon is up to the challenge from Seymour cause he looks like a tough out so far (if healthy).
Re: 5 for 2
Sheldon Seymour has a ton of fans. He is a proven top 25 guy as he has defeated at least 3 guys who were ranked in the 20s during this past year. However, Brandon Paetzell was a top 7 guy at 125. If it isn't a given he'll be the starter, then why even try?
There is nothing that says the coach has to even hold a wrestle-off. It's traditional to hold ranking bouts but it's always the coach's discretion who starts.

Go Brandon!
Apologies….couldn’t resist and don’t read into this.
