Lawrence went 2-2...lost in championship side to wrestler from Illionois who lost to Edmond Ruth in his next match 8-1......lost in consi's to Michigan State sophomore who wrestled one match last year (extra match in a dual) and whose best finish in high school was state 3rd (illinois)......neither guy he lost to placed...Lawrence exited same round of consi's as Herceg........one round farther than Kilrain.........just the facts since you asked, take them as you will.......

Caden Rogers is an enigma to me only because I have no idea what to expect. He was 16-1 wrestling for Malvern last year losing by fall in SV (8:50)In the National Prep Tournament to Blair stud Thomas Stewart all at 220 #. I have no Idea what his natural body weight is but I am now anticipating that he will be wrestling in a weight class almost 40 # lighter this coming season. It can be very interesting to see how that translates.

Vito Arujau wrestled 138 in 2017 as a senior in high school. And dominated. Point being while uncommon, it happens.

If the plan is to take Rogers to 184, he will be huge for that weight, which is the point. Many people who frequent this forum are slow to pick up on what others are doing to make it and stay consistently in the top 10. One trip to the NCAAs and it becomes obvious -- for every "slick, technically sound wrestler who wins (like Yianni) there are 100 others who dominate primarily on strength. BTW< Yianni is plenty strong, just doesn't look it.

Lots of musclemen out there these days (and I'm not including the great water polo player Maddie Musselman). Most kids will need lots of muscle to compete with them. And if you don't have it, that's an obstacle you have to overcome.

How thing have changed. In my young days the muscleman was the exception. Now he's more the rule.

And by the way, I've got some very good recipes for mussels if anyone is interested.

Agree, lots to wonder about Caden Rogers. At National Preps 220 I thought he looked too small for the weight, but kind of pudgy at the same time. At the end of April/May1, he wrestled 92 Kg at the USMC US Open and beat Kolby Franklin pretty handily before losing to Jaxon Smith (UMD) in the semis by a close score, and then losing to Franklin in the 3rd place match. At 92 Kg, he looked comparable in size to many of the others and moved pretty well. Now at 86 Kg, he looks strong and lean. Still gives up a few takedowns and not sure how well he rides or gets out from underneath at this weight, but he seems very promising at 184.

He, Yianni, and Teemer agreed to not be in the same weight classes in 2016 so they could all win NYS titles (they did). Teemer was 126, Vito was 132, and Yianni 138. in 2017, Yianni was out, but Teemer was 132 and Vito 138. Doubtful Vito was ever at 138, else he was on the seafood diet.
