'22-'23 Schedule

Post by Oracle » Tue Jun 21, 2022 4:52 pm

Has anyone heard anything?

Here's an off-season suggestion:

EIWA: Army/Columbia, Navy/American, Cornell/Binghamton, UPenn/Princeton, Bucknell = 9

Non-Conference: Rutgers, Pitt, UNC/NCSU, Stanford, Northwestern = 6 [no PSU]

Tournaments: Journeyman (early season), Midlands (prior to 2nd semester) = estimated min 5 bouts

Total = 20 prior to EIWAs.

I'd like to see Michigan back on the schedule. Otherwise, I like what you've put together.

Why no PSU? Like to see Beard vs. Dean.

I'd be shocked if there's no PSU given the tradition, the geography, and the best chance for LU to pad its home attendance figures.

What's the point of getting destroyed? Let PSU beat on someone else.

PaSU often seems to have a couple guys missing early in the season. Will anyone score 10 points against their regular lineup.

Penn State is a must!!! We got 16 points last year. Rutgers needs to be back on the schedule. They were # 5 in attendance last year. PSU at Stabler guarantees us back into top 10 attendance. Home & Home with Rutgers on alternate years with PSU makes even more sense than Michigan.

Leaving PSU off is controversial, I recognize that. Many things in life are subject to change, tradition notwithstanding. IMO, it's time for a change. Realistically, I don't see them being dropped -- just my opinion.

Curious as to your reason for dropping them? Same as mookie’s?

Yes. I think it does more harm than good for recruiting. The 16 points we scored last year was misleading due to a few of their guys not in the line-up. I realize I'll be shouted down for this but that's okay.

When we lose to Iowa, Okla State, Missouri -- they are out of our orbit. PSU is not.

Cornell doesn't have a regular thing with the Nits and they are better suited to than we are.
