I'm willing to hope that you're right.

Can we all agree that having all ten weights with ranked wrestlers is a good thing? And that having real competition for the starting spots at most weights is also a good thing? And that while we weren't top 15 last year in either duals or tournaments, that we beat a top 10 and a top 15 in each is yet another good thing?

I don't know where we're going to finish in the coming year; there's too much uncertainty regarding who will be at which weight and how good newcomers will be. But it will be a team worth watching.

The King's English is rarely simple
Aspire generally means to seek to attain or accomplish something, vs what can reasonably be 'expected'
No doubt the last 2 yrs have dented our confidence but we've been Top 10 2x in last 5 and Top 11 in five of the last eight. Top 15 fifteen of the last 22. No way we aspire to be Top 15 in duals this yr; the staff will shoot for more with some relevance to how many Top 10s agree to face us to juice our NCAA chances.

NCAA finishes always hors d'oeuvres of a different color but our 5 straight Top 15's as recently as 2015-19 suggest that's what they'll aspire to. This year's roster is far more solid than the last 2 yrs, just for starters; at least it should be with reasonable luck w/injuries.

So in the last ten years we've finished in the top 15 only 5 of the ten years.....and we all seem to agree NIL will only make things more difficult......yet some feel we should realistically expect to finish in top 15 every year????

I'm being a downer on the program because I say top 20 is a more realistic yearly goal? Thank god Denny and his mind numbing statistics are here to help prove my point.........

Spladdle: "I'm being a downer on the program because I say top 20 is a more realistic yearly goal? "

>>>>>>> Agree. Those who beat their chest declaring top 15 or bust -- there's just nothing to base that on, certainly not recent history as has been pointed out. IMO going back more than 5 years is pointless. Besides, we are on the cusp of the new NIL Era. That said, '22-'23 may be an uptick year. One never knows. If the line-up comes together, and stays injury-free, LU could surprise a lot of programs.

BTW, I have no problem with guys beating their chests and hoping for the best.

Neither do I until expectations are not met and people post and act shocked....Would be thrilled if they were top 3 every year, top 5 every year and so on......just see consistently expecting to be in top 20 as a realistic goal......and I do believe this could be one of their top 15 years, but certainly not based on any wrestlestat predictions.......

That’s a pretty solid team - that is, if everyone moves down a weight as you suggest, and everyone else can maintain weight. Also, let’s hope Manzona has his academic issues behind him, as he is lightening in a bottle.

That's not going to be the line-up.

The lineup will be in flux right up till second semester this season I would guess, but the biggest question for me is does Crookham go this year or redshirt and if he goes at what weight?

It will be a very interesting year top10, top15, top20 or whatever......except for the PSU dual.....
