IM has released NCAA D1 Rankings
Re: IM has released NCAA D1 Rankings
I get the feelings of those that are frustrated at what a powerhouse Cael has become. I would hope we continue to wrestle PSU (early in the season) for as long as they can fit us in their schedule. That day may come and I suspect it might be the NIL thing that drives it

The nits of the present has become the Hawkeyes of the past... no one likes that state of dominance, other than their rabid fanbase.

5 - The number of teams with all ten projected starters currently in the rankings
Iowa, Lehigh, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State

Lane #23, McGonagle #29, Hines #23, Bryant #19, Humphreys #9, Meyer #27, Logan #29, Samuelson #15, Beard #9, Taylor #28. Let's hope he two #9s and the #15 can achieve AA status. That might put LU in the top 15 depending on how high they place.
Re: IM has released NCAA D1 Rankings
Samuelson won't beat Davis.

MH ranking takes:
125 about right but prob not Lane
133 will be better but not McGonagle
141 may be too high...just undersized
149 is he the guy at this weight? If so, top 12
157 he's an A/A this yr, possibly top 4
165 about right
174 have a feeling its more like 10-15 with a much better offense
184 about right
197 upside from there
285 may start there and lose a few but will be 10-15 by season's end
the idea of having the entire lineup ranked is quite an achievement in the present scholly/tuition cost/NIL world that's been beaten to death on this forum. Pretty remarkable but does not yield much past the first Friday session at NCAAs. Enjoy the dual meet season.

Re: IM has released NCAA D1 Rankings
HInes' gas tank at 133 is suspect. IMO he should move up. Maybe he finds his way into the line-up and maybe not. That's not our concern. The ranking bouts between Meyer and Logan (if he's headed to 165) and Burkhart and Lawrence will be interesting. All have been in the room together for 3 years and know one another well. My intuition says the staff will monitor early season opens to see who will be more effective against outside competition -- a tried and true strategy. As for 184, it may be a battle, but Samuelson has to have the edge based on his body of work. Davis has improved but there's also Rogers to consider. IMO he's more of a threat.
Re: IM has released NCAA D1 Rankings
I'm telling you Davis is going to be a force at 184.
