#1 Recruit class of 2024
Re: #1 Recruit class of 2024
Mark L was second ranked, behind Jimmy Carr. That was the first year "the Young Wrestle" an AWN spinoff, ranked nationally Carr + Craig among a lot of #1's who had somewhat disappointing careers (like the Majority of them?)
Re: #1 Recruit class of 2024
Me thinks we have too many Debbie Downers trolling this board. The point is, we have gotten #1 recruits in the past and if what you say about Pat Santoro being a “tremendous” recruiter is true, there is no reason we can’t get them again.
Re: #1 Recruit class of 2024
Bobby Weaver was obviously the #1 Freestyle recruit in Fall 78.

I think the recruiting classes and transfers are quite excellent. We've had down years between strong recruiting classes. Remember when Letters, Zinck, T. Frick and Cooperman left. Our next number one recruiting class fell apart. And then you have guys like Hamlin. So #1 recruits aren't everything. I think we're in good shape.

Like the spirit from Lehigh74 as he is correct about Debbie downers & those on this board willing to accept our mediocrity over the past decade.
I do think we have some quality athletes on this team right now & this is the year that they need to step up & perform to get us back into Top 10. Seeking those #1 recruits should be part of our DNA & especially when they are in our region.
The lack of student support is a national phenomenon as today’s students are all about themselves & their iPhones.

Ouch!! You guys are brutal. I disagree concerning the subject of todays kids. Just because they're not interested in the same things that interested us, doesn't make them selfish or idiots.Oracle wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 9:15 amLUEngineer wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 8:53 am The lack of student support is a national phenomenon as today’s students are all about themselves & their iPhones.

I wouldn't want to be a kid today. With the entire world being accessible online nowadays, they are almost forced to lose their sense of innocence at a much younger age than we were - and at an age where they really are not ready mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Also, there are far more ways to be entertained today - and you really can't blame that on them. Basically they are good kids - just with different priorities than we had 40-50 years ago.
The world constantly changes. C'est la vie!
