#1 Recruit class of 2024

Post by Oracle » Mon Jul 11, 2022 10:27 am

Wyoming Seminary's Joe Sealey.

Perhaps because he's attending a PA school, many think he's headed to Penn State. Or because teammate Meyer Shapiro who is headed to Ithaca that makes him a Cornell lock. Not too many know Joe Sealey hails from North Carolina. Does this means NCSU is probably in the running?

Everyone wants this guy. Watching him is like watching a stump grinder....relentlessly chewing up opponents and scoring points at will. Obviously strong, but also flexible and with a non-stop motor.

Does he go Ivy/Stanford? Traditional Big 10 PSU, Iowa, Mich, tOSU? ACC to a North Carolina team? Maybe Iowa State or Okla State? Any opinions?

July 1st article from Flowrestling:

Has Olympic aspirations included... high bar for a high flyin' wrestler (nothing wrong w/ that, naturally. ;) )

The family has millions from selling mattresses. Looks to be a good prospect.

Why not Lehigh? Over the years we’ve had several number 1 recruits. If they ranked recruits, back in the day, both Mike Frick and Mark Lieberman would likely have been number one recruits. David Craig was a number 1 recruit. I’m sure there are others, I am missing.Mike Caruso? Plus, Lehigh may be the only school in the country where Wrestling is the number one sport.

How is this possible when close to zero students attend duals?

Surprising the students haven't turned out in droves to watch the musical inflatable chairs spectacle at halftime.

Lehigh74 may be guilty of wishful thinking but he's right to think we're not in the mix. Coach Santoro will go after him like he does all local, high octaine recruits. Doesn't mean he'll sign him but he's a tremendous recruiter and Lehigh has a lot to offer.

The only issue I see is using examples from the 70s ('72 in Frick's case -- '63 in Caruso's case) to make the point. David Craig came along right after the Letters Era of high level NCAA success under Greg Strobel. The current landscape bears no resemblance to anything that was noted. But being a loyal fan says something.

haven't we covered this ground before? NIL's, collectives, stipends, overall costs. At least with a 50% acceptance rate we can scratch "high academic standard" from the list.
