>>>Is Rogers out with injury or redshirt?

... Both. He had already planned to r/s. See my report 2 wks ago after chatting with Caden (injury details withheld per usual).

Can BRYANT even make 149lbs? Built like the proverbial BSH, and probably a 57lber in the very near future!

You've obviously never stood next to him. He's closer to a 141 lbr. than 157 lbr. Yes, he's a decent-sized 149 lbr. but that's it.

The incredible thing to me is looking a Logan today at picnic & he looks the build & size of the 141pounders??

Bryant could be a moose this year at 149 & replace Humphreys next year at 157.

When the staff and a wrestler say "149" why is there any question from "the cheap seats"?
I spoke to him again today at the picnic. Fun to talk to, as were Crookham & Delaney (who believes he has 4 yrs eligibility after checking; whether that's true or not isn't important this year).

Bryant is 149 and there's no reason to worry yet about 2023-24 -- unless you're betting Manzona that you can cut lighter than he will.

Denny - it was the 5th place bout with the brou-ha-ha. As I remember, Terry jumped out to a 5-0 lead, then got dinged for stalling 3 times (he looked like he was hurt to me, but I could be wrong). When the match ended Bowlsby took offense at what he perceived as excessive stalling and charged DeStito. Terry defended himself by taking a swing at Bowlsby. Both teams docked a point for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Fight was with Avery in the 5th place bout.

as I remember the Bowlsby bout in the consolation Semis Terry got hold of both legs from behind, but the Ref refused to award it until Terry had both hands above the knees, which meant he could not get RT, then immediately called Terry for stalling. so the two point loss

125 Lane 2 Top 20 wins in career.
133 Crookham He must be good, if others are moving weights. His career speaks for itself.
141 Hines 1 Top 20 win in career. Moving up in weight. Likely not a Top 20 wrestler.
149 Brignola 0 Top 20 wins in career.
157 Humphreys National Title Contender
165 Meyer/Bryant 3 Top 20 wins in careers between them
174 Lawrence Highest win #26. Logan 3 Top 20 wins.
184 Samuelson 5 Top 20 wins in career
197 Beard 7 Top 20 wins in career
285 Taylor Highest career win #27. Garcia will push by EIWA. An ultra talented athlete. Think McMullan of Easton, PA/Wyoming Seminary/Northwestern University

125-157 Crookham and Humphreys likely to be AA contenders. Not convinced the other weights are Top 20
165-285 184/197 total upgrade. 2 AA contenders. Not convinced the other weights are Top 20.

As stated by others, after a redshirt year or hitting Junior year eligibility, something historically happens with Lehigh wrestlers. Principally, they eliminate persistent flaws coming out of high school and fully execute a strategy to win in all their matches.

4 AA contenders are where LEHIGH has historically been. The rare 5/6 only happened a few times in past 90 years of LEHIGH ENGINEER WRESTLING. The backups also seem to be of high talent. The LVWC athletes hopefully focusing on bigger men given current talent in room. 174 and up types.

This team is much better than what has been fielded the past 2 years. Pat Santoro has now been Head Coach one year longer than Greg Strobel, no doubt one of greats of American coaching. A few more years he could pass Gerry and Thad. Pat, IMO, has earned right to stay with Lehigh until whenever he chooses to call it quits. Unfortunate that he had to go to PITT instead of LEHIGH, but we got him back as an Assistant, resident Olympic training athlete, and Head Coach.
