Re: 11/6
**** Oracle: I love Jersey Mikes but not for cheesesteaks. Lehigh Valley cheesesteaks are a whole different animal.
Re: 11/6
The best cheese steak I ever had was at Al's Lunch on New St. A hole in the wall run by Helen Chro and her dog Bozo. Frequented by Bethlehem PD and Lehigh wrestlers. Hands down.
Re: 11/6
A very small Harrisburg area chain named Philly Steaks and Hoagies has the best Restaurant business model ever (at least pre covid.) Their Harrisburg store is located within 1/2 mile of the offices of 20,000 state workers, and many 10,000 private office workers. Within 200 yards of 1/4 of those workers. They are only open 10 AM to 3 PM weekdays, not holidays. The workers come in between 8-9 to do prep work and and stay to 4-5PM clean up. I expect that (pre covid) they would sell 4-500 steaks or hoagies during the middle two hours of the day. -- They are not pure Philly cheese steaks (although obviously available by omission), but Lehigh/Susquehanna Valley style, Red Sauce, peppers, pickles mushrooms.
Worst Cheese steaks. I was told the Port Clinton (near Cabella's) Hotel had great Steak sandwiches. Turns out they were not really Steak sandwiches, the steak was not chipped but ground. Neither a Steak sandwich nor a sloppy Joe , just a mess.

I'm with Richb-3 on chipped over ground, though there are some highly regarded places in and around Bethlehem) that serve the latter. To me, that's not a cheeseSTEAK.
Re: 11/6
What the heck is happening in Allentown?! First Walp's closes, and now the Brass Rail!
Re: 11/6
Forget the wrestling, now we're talking serious stuff - FOOD!
Crossraodas was a pretty decent Mexican Restaurant when I was at Lehigh. Though I really liked Zapata's Place out on Stefko.
Re: 11/6
Swung by Yocco’s a couple weeks back for dogs and rogies.
Re: 11/6
Well put Legger. I can't agree enough - Potts in Bethlehem is the place for doggies in the Valley. Chili cheese doggies all dayyyy. Alex Iacocca (LU Wrestler & from that Iacocca Family) was a fraternity brother of mine - & Alex's family owned Yoccos. I would make sure to bring him back a chili cheese dog every time i went to Potts....
