It's all a matter of perspective. I grew up in the 50s and early 60s when baseball was King. I wore #9 for Roger Maris as a mascot for the LL team managed by my Dad. My mascot uniform had pinstripes. I idolized Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra --- watched every game on WPIX channel 11 in NYC. As a grown man in my 50s, I cried when Mickey Mantle died. Who didn't from my era of Yankee fans? Though the Yanks have won several World Series since their hay day ended in 1962, it's not the same as when the WS games were played in the daytime.

Aaron Judge is a throw back. A unique athlete who many believe just set the all-time (drug-free) HR record, myself included. Ruth 60 (1927) Maris 61 (1961) Judge 62 (2022) All Yankees. So this is not all made-up adulation. The Yankees are the gold standard of professional sports in this country. No doubt they have their haters. No problem. But Aaron Judge is a gentleman and conducted himself with a lot of dignity during his record breaking year....just a few BA pts short of the triple crown!

The NY Yankees are the ONLY team in all of professional sports where ownership require their players to look the part. Baseball is by far my favorite sport --- I don't dislike any team......even the Red Sox!

Judge gets a pass in my book. Houston has the best pitching.

Excellent diversion per YANKEES/Judge by Oracle. :o We must be of the same age, mid-70's I assume. I idolized Mantle, in-lieu of his imperfections,. and was at his and Whitey Ford's HOF Induction. Per Judge,..he carries himself well, with CLASS,.. and in attempt to make this thread WRESTLING relative,.. so does Coach Santoro. :D

Sounds like an old Yankee broadcast and a picture of Mantle is all u need for your wet dream evening.
It’s the fans that suck.

The tears still rain down. Love it.

A polite request: for whatever reason we're suddenly enduring this month for the 1st time ever shit like "wet dream" and "circle jerk" and another one i forget. Is there a valid reason for this and could we clean it up a tad? If not, you might wind up with an actual moderator and god knows no one's ready for that.

Maybe it's just anti-Yankee hatred ?

Again re-read the thread. MH never went there until a couple others did. Also, there’s a block function on here. Use it.

Try owning up to your status as the biggest grinch in existence. If we all ignored the negativism it would own the forum.

>>>>>>> This very true and a good observation. Taking shots, as a fan of a particular program, has always baffled me. Maybe people don't see how it comes across? We all know things aren't perfect....with wrestling and especially football, but why the need to go public? Contact the AD or the President, or a Trustee if it bothers one that much. Why take it here? Does anyone believe posting negative comments (even if the truth) will effect change? I don't.

Oxymoron: "constructive criticism" --- if it's criticism, it's destructive. There's always a better way to tell your story.
