COWBOYS
Re: COWBOYS
The point “he” gave us to win it was our criteria point as the tiebreaker, for most team points; final 21-20

Re: COWBOYS
MH remembers this and shockingly, Smith didn’t seem to realize that they had lost the dual on criteria at the conclusion of the last bout. Waved his hand as if to say “you’ve got to be kidding me” and walked off in disgust.
He may have been one of the all time greats on the mat but if you watch him in the corner you will not be a fan of his game these days.

Re: COWBOYS
If I remember correctly, Smith was probably itching for an excuse to go off after Foley failed one of his wrestlers on a skin check. Those 6 points were the difference and I think that same wrestler had gone the night before somewhere.

Re: COWBOYS
Quite correct I had forgotten that. Still not a Smith fan
Re: COWBOYS
Actually it was the doctor and Smith came over and apologized to him today

Re: COWBOYS
Jack said he and the doc Dq'd him; JF had enormous experience DQing wrestlers incl 1 of our own out in LV.
Yes, it was awkward w/Cowboys but JJF said he didn't appreciate the diagnosis the day before - but those things can crop up overnight. Glad OSU came back since we're 1 of the stricter campuses around - zero interest in simply passing it on
