Isn't the Senior Open a rather huge (and risky) step back into competition for a freshman who's been on injured reserve?

A fan could certainly wonder about that; I did myself when I spoke to Caden about going. But I certainly wasn't going to raise my concerns with him, since decisions are made by wrestlers, coaches and training staff.
He was training a tourney last Summer when he was injured.

You've uniquely brought this up twice -- you dragged it back up, not me. A kid's HS resume is none of our business and your using his ACL injury to further cite how old he'll be for his debut is, well, that's pretty freakin' odd, too. His debut in Vegas will only 5 mo late.
all this is nonsense.....and peculiar/odd? I would think fawning over an ex-wrestlers red headed wife on an online forum might be considered a bit more peculiar, odd....and a bit creepy

Is he going to bother registering, or will he just show up at weigh-ins?

... It's not a competition; they're both odd. Why did you ask the personal question in the 1st place: why did they add a year? Then call attention again to his age when he 'finally' suits up? What kind of answer were you looking for? It's done all the time by parents or their schools. Added physical maturity is often a reason for athletes, right? Sometimes it enhances a shot at landing the booming value of a scholarship. Who needs to know except the family? See HIPAA privacy laws.
... Funny thing: fans think every question is fair play, simply free speech. Doesn't mean every question makes sense

What people missed is more important: Caden Rogers is suiting up. Nice scoop Denny.

>>>>>>>>If he’s wrestling it obviously means he’s fully recovered———-time to work off some of the rust.

Other than knowing which category a guy’s entered———I don’t see why posters fixate on a wrestler’s age.

Who cares if a guy is 20 or 21 when some guys at the NCAAs were in their 6th year out of hs.

I’m curious to see how he measures up versus the competition after a year’s recovery.

Dean was among 2 guys in Tulsa in 8th year. There will be other in the next couple years. Not even counting religious or military delays.
