Re: Recruits-2023
>>>>>>>>>> I’ll happily defer to other posters for the lowdown on prunes, but I believe the Lehigh coaches have some personal insights on recruits that don’t have state titles on their resume.
My recollection is that neither Pat Santoro nor Brad Dillon were PA state champs in hs———-but they both obviously excelled in college.
I’ll be surprised if the current recruiting class doesn’t bring in some state titles as hs seniors—-four of them are currently ranked in Flo’s top 20 by weight class.
Plus, there’s still time to land add’l recruits as well as mining the Transfer Portal.

Re: Recruits-2023
I like Lehigh to become more of a graduate transfer school for wrestlers. Lehigh's graduate programs are not that highly competitive for entrance. There should be an opportunity for select weight classes each year to potentially land Top 15 wrestlers who may want to elevate from the program they are at and who also happened to graduate with solid GPA.FloridaGuy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 9:26 pm >>>>>>>>>> I’ll happily defer to other posters for the lowdown on prunes, but I believe the Lehigh coaches have some personal insights on recruits that don’t have state titles on their resume.

Re: Recruits-2023
Or finally land an int'l prospect yesterday, like Bekhruz Sadriddinov of Uzbekistan, 152/160, Class of '24 (missed jr yr) whose brother Shermuhaddad is at Clarion (fr). Bekhruz verbaled LU after visiting Lehigh then OhioSt after winning 16U Fargo title last summer (both bros fewer achievements in folk); their father was on Uzbeki World Team. Arrived in U.S. 2013. Great kid, nice interview in Fargo
Re: Recruits-2023
Now for Lehigh coach to visit Russia, Iran, Mongolia and Japan to find wrestlers.drd5748 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 2:26 pm Or finally land an int'l prospect yesterday, like Bekhruz Sadriddinov of Uzbekistan, 152/160, Class of '24 (missed jr yr) whose brother Shermuhaddad is at Clarion (fr). Re: Recruits-2023
I vote for Iran - a kid with one of those 25 letter names. Would be entertaining to hear the LU announcer try to pronounce and drag out one of those names.HFO wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 4:02 pmNow for Lehigh coach to visit Russia, Iran, Mongolia and Japan to find wrestlers.drd5748 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 2:26 pm Or finally land an int'l prospect yesterday, like Bekhruz Sadriddinov of Uzbekistan, 152/160, Class of '24 (missed jr yr) whose brother Shermuhaddad is at Clarion (fr). Re: Recruits-2023
Was Surinian of Iranian extraction? Armenian? I seem to remember it was one or the other.
Mongolians have some nice long names also.

Re: Recruits-2023
I was thinking Syrian or Lebanese but you're right it sure does sound Armenian.
The Mongolian names are basically random scrabble tiles with a lot of As.
