>>>>>>>>>>Referencing career w-l for McGonagle is of limited value when his prior years bouts were at 141.

Using w-l record to justify Lawrence over Logan is bogus when Lawrence’s matches were mostly open tourneys vs Logan wrestling varsity opponents.

Bryant potentially moving to 165 this year is a non-starter——- he’s in the process of learning how to win against top flight competition at 149. He has the athletic talent—-he needs time to develop.

I’d like to see what Garcia can do at hwt, but I’m also interested to see how the current starter develops over the course of the season.

Lastly, a wrestler’s hs resume very quickly becomes almost meaningless in college.

Agree +1.

Also, last year should not factor in. W-L this year is all that really matters. IMO

Analyzing the match-up with Cal Poly and NCSU:

CAL POLY
125: CP +3
133: LU +3
141: Toss-up
149: CP +3 depending on who goes....MB would not win upper body with Demas
157: LU +4
165: Toss-up
174: LU +3
184: LU +3
197:Toss-up (leaning LU)
285:Toss -up (both are freshmen)
Prediction: Lehigh 19-12 (6/4 split) --- obviously toss-ups will decide the dual

NCSU
125: LU +3 (slight advantage)
133: LU +3 (tough opponent)
141: NCSU +3
149: NCSU +3
157: Toss-up (leaning LU) -- tough opponent
165: Toss-up (leaning NCSU) -- a soph
174: Toss-up (leaning LU) -- a freshman
184: NCSU +3
197: LU +3 -- tough opponent
285: NCSU +3 -- highly ranked
Prediction: Lehigh (takes all 3 toss-ups) 18 NCSU 15 6/4 split

Yep, agree with Cal Poly breakdown......NC State, well let's say I'm not as optimistic but is certainly possible.......

I have to assume no-one is better qualified to access the availability/readiness of the kids in that room than DR. SANTORO,.. with his finger on the pulse-rate of each grappler! With that said however, my gut tells me there's a better TEAM in that room right now than what is being sent to the center-circle. Pat's dilemma is this,..with an EYE on tomorrow do ya burn a red-shirt if the talent level is negligible between the two combatants, probably not,. but if there's a wider gap, and the kid can contribute now,..then maybe.:o I would venture a guess with the new NCAA protocol per RS participation, we're gonna see some part-time matinee appearances by some of the kids you allude to, Crookham, and a few others..but at Pat's discretion.

BTW,..when/where is the 2nd coming of Brock Lesnar? The hype over this football player, Gage Garcia, has been over-whelming,..SHOW-ME-THE-MONEY! But the fact that he likes CONTACT, and the ability to engage leads me to think he might be much more competitive than Taylor, with a nose-for-the-goal-line,.. ahh mean TAKE-DOWN!

No disrespect to Garcia intended here (seriously I want him to succeed for those who question) but I'm guessing he's about 5'9" tall and goes about 215/220 lbs (football roster lists him at 5'10"- 215 lbs, you know they add at least an inch in height)......I know light athletic heavies are all the rage currently, and with his background (minus the 3 year break) he certainly has the wrestling pedigree and athleticism but damn that is an extremely light small framed heavy for D1.....

It looks like Owen R could wrestle the next 4 dates thru Bing, without burning his redshirt.(or can he use the 5 dates anytime before EIWA?)

Lawrence opponent in senior year PIAA finals is wrestling 157 in college & Lawrence up 2 weight classes. So high school performance appears irrelevant
