Princeton v Rutgers
Princeton v Rutgers
Split 5-5 with Rutgers winning on points criteria. Nice turnout of about 3k, I'd estimate, including lots of kids and middle agers. One would think they'd have better bathroom facilities so that the mens room line at halftime wouldn't extend halfway across the foyer. Halftime entertainment consisted of 5-6 short bouts with 8-10 year old girls and boys. At least better than LU's embarrassing musical chairs, I think. Good announctrix who, unlike LU's dopey guy, only slightly prolonged names. Man, does Stefanic - up to 285 from 184 - have a fat ass and huge thighs.

Re: Princeton v Rutgers
Pretty competitive match. Happy to see Glory back in-the-fold, he's the SPARK-PLUG!
Announcer brings some LIFE to the party. Lehigh should take note..
Love going to JADWIN where I watched both Mike Frick, and Mike Lieberman win NCAA titles in 1975, and where my brother-in-law won his STATE title in 1976. Building was state-of-the-art when built in 1969, and remains so. Multi-levels under ground,.. and a very impressive lookin' Gym.
Been waiting for Stout197 to make an incremental jump with a few signature wins. His Dad, a very impressive lookin' specimen was a 4 X AA for Clarion, as well as NJ state champ. Pretty impressive jump for Stefanik to wrestle heavyweight after a few decent seasons at 184lbs,..but probably doing it more for the team who always seems to be lacking the big guy.
Looking forward to returning to the home of A-BEAUTIFUL-MIND on February 11TH, and our dual with the Tigers.

JIM POPINKO - WARREN HILLS - TOP LEFT
Strong farm-boy from the small hamlet of Oxford, N.J., just outside Washington. 2ND of two State Champs from Oxford, the other being my teammate George Shoemaker(1964). Jim also excelled as a wide-receiver on the grid-iron, was fast, with a good pair-of-hands. Played briefly for Rutgers, before transferring to Kutztown. Had a few PRO try-outs,..the last being with the NEW YORK GIANTS.
His three daughters were ALL-STATE Field Hockey stars, and played D1 collegiately.
Jim continues to run the farm in his home town, and is owner of the highly successful JERSEY-STARZ Field Hockey Club.
