Lane didn’t look great at all when fresh. Zero offense from feet. Hines was incredibly sloppy and sorry to raise this but looked a bit undersized. Logan kinda meh and Samuelson into a shell against the one too quality guy he faced. Can def see the big man developing. Most of the backups didn’t have a great day either.
Throw this one down as a post Christmas bad day. Maybe squeezing back into the weight again.

As Kentucky Mudflap used to say….let’s not get our dobbers down too much. Lotta season left.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mostly agree. But losing to D2 and Army Prep guys when you have been in our room for 2/3+ years is eye raising. Perhaps Lehigh's depth isn't what we'd all like it to be, or believe it is. Logan losing to Delsignore, a NY state runner-up from Shenendahowa (Popolizio's hs) was bad loss. Logan should have enough experience to beat that guy. After Christmas or not, he hasn't shown the improvement that is expected of D1 athletes at a premier program like ours. IMO, that's not on the staff. We've all seen this movie before (F&M Open) and it's about a 25 on rotten tomatoes.

Brian Meyer may be injured, may be HEW, may be ready to return. Whatever. It's time whoever steps on the mat steps on hungry. At this point who cares who wins in the room if they get to live action and back-up, keep their fanny pointed to OOB, and generally don't attack? Let the guys who want to wrestle get out there. And by "wanting to wrestle" I mean being aggressive when the whistle blows. We lack that big time. Shocking and defeats the purpose of a tough schedule. There's got to be a core group who want to fight.

Add another plus: redshirting Brancato beat the Bearcat Open runnerup - from Navy.

I greatly admire the academies -- a ton -- but I'm conceding nothing to them in the dual or Easterns.
Not even mopey mookie can make a strong case for that.

He is a gamer & could still emerge once he is settled into his new weight. Logan just lacks horsepower at this weight. He needs to cut to 165!!
Disagree. The complaint about the current starting 141 is that he is undersized. So, you suggest sending a blue chip true frosh 133 (who has a history of injuries) up to 141? What makes you think he can instantaneously put on eight pounds of muscle to hang w the bigger guys? Let's allow Crookham to take a traditional deferral year and not ruin his potential to become a 3x or 4x AA.

Only win by Brancato over Navy at F & M was beating Hunter Johns who is 6-9 on the year against D1 wrestlers and finished 0-2 at the Bearcat Open........think you have your Navy wrestlers mixed up

>The only loss to Army prep at F&M was to Dakota Morris————who finished 2nd in NJ last yr at 157. So basically Herceg lost to guy we would be very happy to have as a redshirt frosh at Lehigh this year.

I’m all for being aggressive, but sometimes a hwt is better served by not shooting for a td when he’s up 1-0 in the 2nd. Match strategy, imo, would take the lead into the 3rd and see if he can earn a riding time point.

The 184 finals loss was a mirror image of Trenge or Humphries losing key NCAA bouts by not stalling in the last 10 seconds. If your going to make that mistake do it in a semi meaningless mid season open tourney.

Yes, guys need to keep improving.

The EIWA dual season is upon us and we have the enjoyment of watching it unfold.

Let’s see who steps up.

EIWA dual season's coming up? ;)
Well... we have the B&W going up to the "friendly confines" of Cornell next weekend, to go up against a hot Big Red team, itching for revenge from last season's surprise!
A Wonderful Way to Start That Stretch, eh sport fans?

... I think you're too lazy to check the Mid site

2021-22 // Junior Year
• Navy’s starter at 184 pounds in three duals, he posted a 10-9 overall and 2-1 dual record

• Went 3-1 at Bearcat Open to take second place and 3-1 at the East Stroudsburg Open to take third place
• Earned first collegiate dual victory over AJ Burkhart of Lehigh by a 14-8 decision
