IM is reporting 2X AA and 3X EIWA champ, Lou DePrez suffered a season-ending injury in the finals of the Southern Scuffle and will join the staff at SUNY-Binghamton immediately. Sad ending to a really outstanding career. Best to him moving forward. 134 wins

Damn. It looked bad when it happened, and he knew right away something was wrong. No question of trying to continue. Could be one less qualifier for the EIWA.

What was the nature of the injury?

The right knee was injured while being taken down. Unfortunately, the Flo stream of that match lags at the moment of actual injury, so one can't go back and see exactly what happened.

Yeah, he’s really good. One of the few opponents I really like. Took neutral in 3rd period with over a minute riding time and 2-2 score against Dean in last year’s National quarterfinals. Dean won a challenge takedown. Deprez was able to get up but then Dean did what he does best - not wrestle.

Too bad.
