Saying 149-174 are question marks and “should be a solid team” is somewhat incongruous unless your definition of solid is different than mine.

At this point I'll take solid as in not a disaster while rebuilding. We'll miss humphreys and tate, no way around that.

On a somewhat related note: what's the outlook on caden rogers? First year who can wrestle 184. Had a good showing at the u23s. He just lost to a valencia brother. He looked like Michael Beard in that match, for better or worse - had valencia down 6-0 in the first 2 minutes... before giving up 12 unanswered points with little resistance. Must be a Malvern Prep thing?

>>>>>>> Probably. There are very, very few teams with no suspect weights. Most of the top 15 have 2-3 that are fair to midland. Lehigh's recent history is 3-4. Why we are not top 15. My premise for those 4 weights is perhaps 2-3 will produce a credible starter while it appears to me either Repos or Grungo will start at 149 -- both have nice upsides.
Most of the teams on our schedule face the same challenges. We went 18-15 vs Cornell last year and they were top 3. No cause for alarm IMO. And not saying you are alarmed. 'Solid' means what it means.

>>>>>>Seymour lost a semis heartbreaker in the last 5 seconds. He and Rogers will finish around their seeds. I believe Seymour has Unger next).

Liked the performances of Davis ( rd/12) and definitely Wilt (placing in the top 8 with a long path thru the cons)

Also liked Kimo’s effort and results as well as the U-20 guys Bailey and Tayloe( who both exceeded their seeds)

With respect to next year: Brigs needs to be at 157 ( and he could use a redshirt)

Logan needs to get healthy and improve at 174.

Munch may be a factor at 149 along with the true frosh, Kimon and a few others.

I see Herceg and Mays in the 165 mix.

Rogers will have a tough pull to 184, he’ll will be fine if he can hold the weight and keep his conditioning. Davis will also be in the 184 mix.

Wilt is full sized and has a future at 197 after Beard .

Seymour will be a plus at 125 and I anticipate Bailey will certify at 125 as a safety measure ( along with 2 incoming recruits)

Crookham and McG ( maybe whoever is healthier)and Bailey at 133/141 along with Hines and possibly Kimo at 141/149.

Also think (hope) we’re not finished with the transfer portal.

Looking forward to the Lightweights and upper weights being very solid, and the middle weights being an adventure

Pretty sure most are tired of being mired in mediocrity. Way overdue for a change in leadership.

.... and Seymour, after leading 5-1 in the second, gives up 6 straight points including the winning 2 with 10 seconds left.
