As we all know Thayer Lawrence was injured in a flurry at the end of regulation. He was able to stand up to start SV and immediately go down, to lose by a decision. (hardly the first time something like that happened. Burley with a huge lead and 2 seconds to go injured {slam?} his Wilkes opponent. John Reese agreed to a restart of the last 2 seconds, and a just stand there end. The 10 pt swim made the difference in the dual.)
What if he had been concussed? The doctor could not allow him to continue. Default 6 team points not 3. The Rule should be just a decision, just 3. Also think of the possibility of a guy with 2 injuries, and exhaustion. Likely better to just go down to start SV.
And I think default by accumulation of a 4th penalty in OT should be only 3 pts. (obviously misconduct DQ should be 6 to the winner and a minus to the loser.
OT defaults.
