Who's Not the All American

Post by HFO » Thu Feb 01, 2024 1:07 pm

Some think wrestlestat is way off, but reality is that it has been quite accurate for a few years post COVID.

Who's not an All American 125? We can play each weightclass.

Wrestler School Conf Record WS ELO Win / Bns
Ramos, Matt | JR #35 Purdue Big Ten 18 - 3 1601.93 85.71% / 50.00%
Barnett, Eric | SR #30 Wisconsin Big Ten 18 - 2 1530.50 90.00% / 61.11%
Noto, Anthony | JR #43 Lock Haven MAC 12 - 1 1528.13 92.31% / 58.33%
Stanich, Luke | FR #16 Lehigh EIWA 13 - 1 1526.41 92.86% / 61.54%
Ayala, Drake | SO #6 Iowa Big Ten 13 - 2 1507.20 86.67% / 53.85%
Surtin, Noah | JR #2 Missouri Big 12 12 - 1 1506.37 92.31% / 75.00%
Davis, Braeden | FR #1 Penn State Big Ten 13 - 0 1500.24 100.00% / 61.54%
McKee, Patrick | SR #13 Minnesota Big Ten 9 - 4 1498.94 69.23% / 77.78%

I'll say Patrick McKee. I have seen most on Flow now. Just like Stanich has been a surprise. Braeden Davis supplanted some pretty decent 125 at Penn State to emerge now undefeated. I like Noto to win it all.

Just another indication of how tough it is to rank 125.

If I’m not mistaken, it’s been over 25 years since Lock Haven had a National Champion - Cary Kolat. Would be nice to see that happen again.

Troy Spratley (Oklahoma State) is your NCAA champ at 125 lbs.

125 is mindblowing this year. So how many different #1, has to be 8 by now. You get there and down you go.

133 Weightclass

1 Arujau, Vitali | SR #7 Cornell EIWA 8 - 1 1644.91 88.89% / 75.00%
2 Fix, Daton | SR #4 Oklahoma State Big 12 9 - 0 1623.50 100.00% / 77.78%
3 Ragusin, Dylan | JR #8 Michigan Big Ten 17 - 0 1587.35 100.00% / 52.94%
4 Crookham, Ryan | FR #16 Lehigh EIWA 14 - 0 1576.34 100.00% / 64.29%
5 Bouzakis, Nic | FR #11 Ohio State Big Ten 18 - 6 1543.01 75.00% / 77.78%
6 Nagao, Aaron | SO #1 Penn State Big Ten 8 - 3 1539.96 72.73% / 100.00%
7 Bailey, Nasir | FR #29 Little Rock PAC 12 20 - 2 1532.67 90.91% / 75.00%
8 Orine, Kai | JR #5 NC State ACC 10 - 2 1532.02 83.33% / 60.00%

My picks NOT ALL-AMERICAN Nagao, Orine. Fix National Champion. Seedings will be huge for this weightclass. Matchup of style will be critical. QF will be outstanding.
