Ranking Update
>>>>>>>Flo rankings today:
Lehigh: team dual—# 15, Team tournament—# 7. Certainly higher rankings than anyone anticipated pre season.
Stanich #2, Crookham #1, Hines #15, Brigs #25, Logan #25, Beard #6, Taylor #7
I think the rankings are reasonable, but holding serve thru the EIWAs is, imo, the next big step. Crookham obviously has the toughest EIWA hurdle with a defending world champ in his bracket.

Re: Ranking Update
I'm amazed. I can't remember a time in recent seasons when we had 4 top ten wrestlers. And that they really belong there. I knew Stanich was a good recruit but couldn't have guessed he would crack top 5, and stay there. Maybe the 2003 team with Letters, Cooperman and Trenge. I think that team started the season ranked 2nd behind Okie State but gradually slipped a bit during the season, this group of folks started low and are peaking at the right time.FloridaGuy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 5:12 pm >>>>>>>Flo rankings today:

Re: Ranking Update
2017: Darian Cruz seeded 4th at NCAAs, won; Scott Parker seeded 9th, finished 8th; Randy Cruz 11th, DNP; Laike Gardner 10th, R12; Ryan Preisch 6th, R12. Doug Vollaro was unseeded and made it to R12.
2018: Darian 1st, 5th; Parker 6th, 7th; Luke Karam seeded 13th, DNP; Jordan Kutler 4th, 6th; Preisch 3rd, R12; Chris Weiler unseeded, R12; Jordan Wood 10th, R12.
Pre-Covid; we don't remember those days.
Crookham and Beard were both elite recruits. Stanich was a 4x NJ placewinner, which is pretty hard to do, 1x champ, 124-10 HS career, Flo #66 overall recruit which counts as mid-tier, I suppose. The surprise to me is Taylor, 4th and 1st in PA AA, 87-24 career, not a top 100 recruit; but an unusually mobile big man who is very coachable.

On Jan 22nd, Flo had both Stanich and Crookham ranked 1st. THAT is something I can't remember seeing recently.

Re: Ranking Update
2005 Letters seeded #1. I think Trenge Also. The coaches thought the DQs were Horse Hockey Was Coop 3 seed?
Re: Ranking Update
Agree on Beard, think he should be at 4. Ahead of Smith and Buchanan.

Re: Ranking Update
Hope he stays 6 & gets #3 in quarters. Beard has had a great season so far & could make finals.
