Well that 99% confirms that they are likely moving on. All have at least a year left of eligibility. Will be interesting if they end up elsewhere for wrestling.

No Crookham, no Stanich tonight against Princeton. The clown show continues.

Keep rolling those dice and snake eyes are bound to come up. Maybe tonight will be the night against semi lowly Princeton. But I know, only the Nationals matter.

Where are you seeing that Mookie? So, does Ethan Smith get the call at 133 or do we have Seymour wrestling another guy who is twice his size? Do you think McGonagle will show up to wave to the crowd, or will that be too much trouble?

Wouldn't the ultimate strategy be to just forfeit these duals? Are they just doing this so guys can get the requisite matches in? Seems like that could all be handled in a couple tournaments at F&M etc.

If true, then Stanich is following the every-other-week plan that I proposed on 5-Feb:
lu_alum wrote: Mon Feb 05, 2024 1:45 pm My speculation is that we'll see Stanich as follows:

9-Feb: Bucknell
24-Feb: @ Arizona State - #11/#14 Figueroa (IM/Flo ranks)
8-Mar: EIWA (two weigh-ins)
21-Mar: NCAA (three weigh-ins)

That puts him on a schedule to (weigh-in and) compete every two weeks, with another opportunity against a ranked opponent prior to EIWAs. Over the six week timeframe, he would only have to hit the scale seven more times for the four events.

On the other side, Princeton has forfeited their 125 bout against Penn. 133 they send backup Kayal against Ryan Miller (Penn's 125 starter). Guess everybody is taking the weekend off.

So if Seymour collects a fft against Princeton that is a 15th bout, right?

Passionate fans are a wonderful element to any sport but too often they think they know too much.

During the 1st semester, there was all this talk about the demise of the program. The 2nd semester, Pat strategically manipulated the 1st 2 weights and Lehigh is 6-0 and ranked higher than any of us ever anticipated. Now the problem seems to be that we are not winning big enough. smh

Crookham, by most accounts is dinged. Stanich needs to be very disciplined in order to make 125 and not lose strength and/or energy. If Crookham, were to aggravate his ding at this stage of the game, those very passionate fans would be in an uproar. If Stanich gets sucked out maintaining weight and doesn't qualify like Kutler, the same fans would be in an uproar, solely because our margin of victory was not big enough.

IMHO, we learn about more about wrestlers and they develop faster when matches appear to be on the line. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the show. There is a lot to be optimistic about.
