I've been out of town and the IP address for my hotel's wifi was blocked from posting here. Weird. Just got back a little while ago.

Griffin has one odd statistic -- including wrestle-offs and bouts against teammates, he's lost eight times this year when he's received the riding time point. On one occasion he had more than three minutes time advantage. So he's great on top; actually isn't bad on his feet, but probably needs a more reliable takedown move (who doesn't?), and maybe needs to give up on rides a little earlier, esp. against elite opponents. But riding relentlessly isn't going to work unless he gets better at scoring points on tilts.

Crookham had to wrestle somewhere this weekend. He doesn't have enough bouts for an RPI even after today, and it's more than 30 days since his last outing which means he wouldn't be counted in the next CP ranking -- so he wouldn't earn a pre-allocated spot for the EIWA. Now that spot is locked up.

Griffin probably locked in a pre-allocated spot today too; his winning percentage should now be well into the .700s. He didn't wrestle three stiffs, either.
I'm a big fan of data but sometimes I need to peel back the skin of the onion. :-)

Of his 18 wins going into the tournament, 10 have been by fall and 2 more by tech fall, a reason riding time is not always a good barometer. His matches tend to end early. It is also a good indicator to me that he can be pretty lethal from the top. I may be wrong on this but of the matches I witnessed, many of them had the opponent choosing neutral. They apparently had a lot of respect for punishing rides. He obviously worked out with Josh last year.

It just seemed that Reinsel remained in the equation because he was much better on his feet. Just thinking that if he continues to develop in neutral, he will be doing much more damage on top.

Reinsel (open) and Repos (wrestle-offs) have both beaten Griffin, too. Could be another reason they've remained in the equation. Reinsel looks tall enough that I suspect his future lies at a higher weight. Maybe Griffin, too.

Griffin looks like a lighter 149 to me….Lehigh lists him as 141/149 which kind of supports that…... Reinsel more full sized…. Could be wrong though…..

He's somewhat thin but has some height ... like Wilt (Jack, not Chamberlain).

Watched ASU meet on Pac 12.

Did LoMan say anything about Crookham's absence on radio broadcast??

Or any other good tidbits/insights?

It is clearly a rehab, like the Phillies sending Bryce Harper to Reading or Allentown.

I am just not sure why Penn or F+M (or Army) did not provide the guy. Obviously it Benefits them if Ryan doesn't steal an NCAA slot from the EIWA

I listened to it, and do not recall him really saying anything about it other than what's already known. Hopefully the coaches are just playing it cautious with whatever injury he's dealing with, and it's not serious.

Griffin beats Seefeldt 12-0…..I think we have our 149

Griffin 3-0 on day

Seefeldt 5-0 over Reinsel

Repos 9-8 over Seefeldt
I think so also. Those who can be redshirted will. They got some varsity in under the 5 match rule. It is down to Griffin/Munch and given what Griffin can do in riding, I would go with him also. One thing for sure is it will be a battle for 149 again next year with what is in the room and those who are coming to the room. It bodes will that it will be a much improved weight in 2025.
