>>>>>>> The Power 2 conferences (B1G and Sec) will generate about $50 million more in media rights for each team vs ACC or Big XII teams.

No surprise that schools are trying to exit the ACC and follow USC, UCLA, Wash & Ore to the B1G or Tex & Okl to the SEC.

The real impact for wrestling is UNC and UVA are reportedly also looking to leave the ACC, which would reduce the ACC to five wrestling schools ( Duke, Stan, NCSt, VaT and Pitt). I would think the EIWA would open the door for Pitt to rejoin the conf if they came a-knocking.

Why not just merge the ACC and EIWA and leave the Ivies on the island?

What a wonderful thing to reverse my original proposal & invite the 5 remaining ACC schools to join the EIWA. Would take us back to 16 teams!!!

Nice to have Pitt back & Chris Ayres from Stanford!!

Ayres was one of the instigators of the Ivy leaving the EIWA.

Listen guys, it's a done deal. Chris Ayres is a good guy and a Lehigh guy. We don't have to agree. In fact, we can post all day long how stupid it is, but it's done. They had their reasons. To boo a coach who voted for it, or castigate a guy who pushed for it, is petty and beneath us.

Of the 6 Ivy coaches, my favorite is Jay Weiss, then Roger Reina. They were likely on opposite sides of this. Changes nothing for me.

BTW, in no way am I saying you don't have the right to post whatever.

One thing for sure is that the ACC Commissioner has shit the bed. He has to be fired immediately and ACC needs tor regroup, not lose teams, and add teams.

>>>>>>>>The underlying issue is the per school football media value of the B1G and SEC is 2-3 times the value of the ACC.

The ACC commissioner is ultimately at the mercy of the media marketplace ———— a high exit fee is the only ACC control over schools leaving——— thus the lawsuits.

The SEC and B1G only want the select schools that can generate high media revenue. A handful of ACC schools like FlaSt and UNC, that can double or triple their football media revenue, will eventually move to the SEC or B1G the same way Texas and Okl left the Big XII and USC & UCLA left the PAC.

Oracle—The post a couple of weeks ago was about the Patriot league approaching the ACC for us to join them for wrestling.

The new post is different in that the EIWA invites the remaining 5 projected wrestling schools to join the EIWA.

I like that plan for sure if in fact the ACC loses UNC & UVA.
