You are kidding yourself to think the new EIWA is an anywhere near the ACC in quality. Other than Lehigh, how many AA’s did the new EIWA have this year?

Recruiting will be a lot tougher as part of a weak league.

To answer your question, the new EIWA had 2 AA's (Pasuik and Key) other than Lehigh
The Ivy League had 1 AA (Wolak) other than Cornell.

Interestingly, unless Cornell finds a loophole for Cardenas, only Shapiro returns from the Ivy group and all 3 Lehigh wrestlers remain eligible.

As of now, Cornell is the only casualty.

Thta's true but in a recent history competitiveness argument irregardless of number of AA's it falls short......

Navy and Army are staying in the EIWA, so they are not a loss.......but how many teams after the those three remaining EIWA teams (Lehigh, Army and Navy) are on par with Cornell, Princeton, U Penn, Columbia or even Harvard in terms of competitiveness?

Who are the next five EIWA teams that can replace those 5 Ivy teams for level of competition within conference? It's not just the Cornell loss........

I was clearly comparing past years of the EIWA vs the ACC. The ACC going forward will be stronger ( incl the addition of Stanford) until UNC leaves for the B1G or SEC.

The new EIWA will not keep Lehigh from performing well, nor will the even weaker new Ivy keep cu from performing well.

Barraclough in portal. We are nuts if we do not offer him a package and are at least in the game. Guy just had a good freestyle season. If not behind superstar NCAA Champs his career, he would be a Top 10 wrestler and potetnial All American. Lehigh has something to offer him, but you know Stanford, Northwestern and others will be after him. A supreme student in bioengineering.

My ties to the Board are long gone. All the good ones from the 1970s through 1990s are gone. Last of them Joe Perella no longer active. Harold Mohler was a close friend.

As for Pat and AD. I learned a long time ago that Officers PLAN & LEAD. Enlisted. TRAIN & DO. Being at JHU or any organization, you have to battle for the resources you want. Don't think I have yelled down a Medical Director or the CEO of JHU Hospital System in my time. It has to be infrequently, but forceful when you do.

As stated, there is no other program at LEHIGH that in past 20 years produced NCAA Champs or All Americans the way Pat does. He is getting shortchanged on exposure of his program not just Nationally, but in the Lehigh Valley. Even something as simple as Billboard on I-78 during wrestling season with updates Pics, Major, Ranking of wrestlers would go a long way of saying "WE GIVE A SHIT!"

Look, too many of these academic institutions are lost right now. It is well apparent. It is up to us as alumni to turn the screws on them, say it is unacceptable. Get better people on the Board who seek to run academia as a center of truth and excellence. HeLble is not the guy, alumni or not. He is lost as a leader. Have ZERO confidence in this guy or current make up of the Board. Have no confidence in the structure of the Board with only 3 "corporate trustees" or essentially super trustees. Needs to go back to a larger deliberative body of Lehigh undergrad alum, grad alum, local CEO of Fortune 500 and then some experts from other areas whether industry, academia, law, etc, preferably alum, but parents OK, or local representatives.

Remember, we are Lehigh University and Asa Packer started it to ensure that technical leaders were available to the local industrial community by attracting men of ability nationwide. Lehigh has to get back on track rather than seeking to be Dartmouth South or Brown Jr. College.

I'm sure Oracle, or anyone of our affluent BOOSTERS,.. would be more than happy to throw in a season SKI/snowboard pass at Camel-Back, along with GIANT season tickets to help seal-the-deal.

Imagine if Lehigh could land this summer 141 Alirez, 165 Barraclough, 174 Connor Brady, 184 Max Hale or Rylan Rogers. One can only dream. Let us see if Lehigh has negotiators on their staff to make at least one happen,.
