Lehigh Football
Re: Lehigh Football
Patriot and Ivy leagues have moved all fall sports to the spring.(that is half the FCS teams in Pa. Same for PSAC, all the D2 schools in the state. Centennial, MAC, and Presidents league, almost all the D3 schools in the state) (I guess some school allowing, Golf, Tennis, maybe XC)
Have any other BCS conferences moved to the spring? I assume some other D3 conferences are spring now. how about D2? (I expect PSAC is the largest?)
Yeah, I know I could research it myself, but I assume many of you guys know this off the top of your head

Re: Lehigh Football
Bison_137,
Have you heard anything differently. Per my discussions with some in the athletic office, that's the game plan as of today at Lehigh. I can only assume that they wouldn't be doing that unless the rest of the Patriot League agrees to be their opponent. This will be quite the feat if they can pull it off.
Re: Lehigh Football
The spring football idea could happen and is certainly being explored. But at this point, as far as I know, there is no definite plan in place yet. Before it can happen, one of the necessary items is for the NCAA to allow it. Right now, the regular football season can only be played in the fall under NCAA rules.TMH wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 9:11 pmBison_137,

Re: Lehigh Football
Some $ numbers. Joe estimates LU has lost about $ 1M so far. A full year of no ticket revenue would coat another $500,000. AD raised $2.5M in donations to fund staff and schollies. Losing another. March Madness would be hard to overcome.

Re: Lehigh Football
No spring championships for fall sports being held in DII (and maybe DIII).
Re: Lehigh Football
First UConn becomes the first FBS team to cancel their football season and now the Big Sky Conference has voted to not play play football
