Wilson played point some last year and did pretty well, although agree that is not his natural position, perhaps one of the FR has made his mark in practice and gets a shot at point, LU has some history with FR PGs, as noted Betlow is a PG and perhaps he has made big strides from FR year and earned more minutesTMH wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 8:26 pm "Still, barring injury I would be surprised if the starters aren't M.Wilson, Fenton, Taylor, J. Who do you see playing at the point? I'm not sure either MWilson or Fenton are pure PGs.
2 weeks til tip off?

Speaking with having luck starting freshmen PGs
Does anyone want to venture a guess (without looking it up) who the last PG was prior to Cohen that was not the regular starter since their freshman year?

Re: 2 weeks til tip off?
Great question. I think it goes back to before Mackey.
On current point situation, I agree someone other than Marques could emerge. On video Sinclair certainly has handle and can pass. If he would start I think Fenton is big minutes sixth man.

Re: 2 weeks til tip off?
That's my best guess too. Only 2 more holiday infused, covid infested, snow driven weeks left and we can put 2020 behind us and look forward to at least a glimpse of Lehigh athletics......fingers crossed.
Re: 2 weeks til tip off?
Wouldn't it be the PG's of 2005-06? Joe Knight played some PG that year - but was suspended half the year. Gilfillan iirc played the most point.
Since then: Four years of Hall, four years of McKnight, four years of Ross, and two of Cohen.
Bucknell, in contrast, has not had a true four-year PG since Abe Badmus graduated in 2007.

As always...spot on. Mitch Gilfillan was the answer I was looking for. It's nice having that kind of stability as the QB of the team. It wouldn't surprise me to see Sinclair man that role this year but time will tell.Bison_137 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 3:12 pm Wouldn't it be the PG's of 2005-06? Did legendary Bison 137 get a cut out? Inquiring minds need to know..... and see!
Re: 2 weeks til tip off?
A little preseason info from coach Reed..... Interviewed on local Lehigh Valley radio and asked who of the returners seems to have made the most off season progress, he mentioned Lynch and Fenton. Betlow also more aggressive, confident. Of the new comers "who has stood out initially?" Paroline and Li in particular. He also mentioned that Sinclair was a bit nicked up early but "should be able to help us" this year.
There was a bit of coach speak in the beginning but I enjoyed his observations on the names mentioned

Thanks jimk,
The interview not only gave me insight into the player's development but also how the team needed to adapt to the current time.
Only 13 more days.
