He is recovering but don't expect him to wrestle this season. It looks like a red-shirt for wrestling. It seems to make no sense rushing him back and risking a re-injury.George Porgie wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 12:04 am Does anyone know how Mr. Garcia is doing health-wise?

Re: Recruits-2022
Very disappointing news. I guess "the experiment" has yielded the kind of predictable results many observers were afraid of. This guy was a blue chip wrestler coming out of high school. Now it'll be 3 seasons if and when he returns to the mats. This loss really hurts at 197 where we could use some immediate help. No disrespect to the current starter. Wishing this young man a full and speedy recovery.
Re: Recruits-2022
The plan all along may have been to redshirt him. As you point out, he's missed a lot of mat time; and he's certainly not alone in that regard. Hahvahd has two wrestlers -- Kim and Tarantino -- who were Top 100 recruits, wrestled one year, were injured the next year, and then missed last season due to Covid. Kim has finished 1st and 3rd in two tournaments so far; Tarantino beat Wilt in the JCC C bracket and took 4th at the Keystone. It's a weird time but it can be done.Oracle wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 10:49 am Very disappointing news. Re: Recruits-2022
Griffin gets caught being too aggressive right at beginning of match and damn near gets spladled for fall, fights out of it then dominates opponent for 1st period win by fall.
Wins TF 15-0 in second match on to round of16 most likely against 12 seed Henckel from Blair.

Re: Recruits-2022
Interesting in that Flo's National Prep Rankings for this year has Griffin rated at #4 at 145 and Henckel is #3.Spladle1989 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 11:03 am Griffin gets caught being too aggressive right at beginning of match and damn near gets spladled for fall, fights out of it then dominates opponent for 1st period win by fall.

In this tournament Griffin is seeded 5th and Henckel 12. Of course Henckel is probably a freshman unknown as of now.

Re: Recruits-2022
Henckel beats Griffin 6-5 in a clubfest, lot of "heavy hands" going on in that one....Griffin winning most of the way but loses it at the end....great match
