Recruits-2022
Re: Recruits-2022
I'm wondering if Saucon Valley has the potential of being some form of pipeline to Lehigh. Of course there is the proximity and the potential of a lot of these kids going to Lehigh camps etc. (although today being close to home is not always an advantage). Saucon Valley is a very good academic school. Crookham, although committing technically while at NDGP, is still someone his teammates probably look up to. There is also another intriguing element though. Tommy Rohn is their assistant coach. I'm guessing their rise in prominence coincides with the Rohn family (Tommy and Don) involvement.
There was an interesting article in the Morning Call about a month ago where Tommy details his issues beginning with a career ending injury in his very first bout at Lehigh and his downhill battle after that. He credits his family and Pat Santoro for his recovery. Ironically, Tommy's son, who is a freshman at SV is traveling a similar path as Crookham. A star linebacker at Saucon Valley, he was hurt badly in a football game. There was the internal battle of when to bring him back and he too became medically cleared to wrestle just prior to the team duals.
All of this may amount to nothing or it can create a bond. Just a thought.

Re: Recruits-2022
Reinsel loses 1-0 in finals… pretty evenly wrestled conservative match …. Should have gone for escape in last 15 seconds instead of reversal but it was close and he went for it…. Hindsight of course 20/20…. Flo had Reinsel ranked 2nd in PA AA to the guy he lost to…
Crookham wrestles a conservative smart match and wins his third state championship 5-1

Re: Recruits-2022
Crookham is really good. Hammer on top and great on his feet. Best Lehigh recruit in quite some time.
Re: Recruits-2022
Ryan Crookham is D1 legit. The kid he just beat,Connor Pierce, was very good and will do well at the next level as well.
Re: Recruits-2022
Agree on both counts.
Re: Recruits-2022
I agree. Strangely I don't see Pierce, who is a senior, 4X PIAA place winner with an overall record of 139-18 as being committed anywhere. Perhaps I just missed it.
Re: Recruits-2022
Bradley of Athens 1 ranked and champ not committed. And about 4 ranked 2. Pierce, best Harbor Creek guy since Catrabone
Article in rokfin about hi ranked uncommitted pa seniors
Bradley looks more like an iowa wrestler than most iowa wrestlers. Did he have Dad at Cornell?
