LU v Army
Re: LU v Army
Damn YOU guys are tough,.. just finished watching the match! Thought the commentary noting fulcrum, wish-bone, PTS in Army war-chest, very creative,..and his enthusiasm in the last minute of last bout worthy of an OSCAR!

So sorry I missed the second half of the line. The roulette wheel thing takes it into a whole new dimension.HFO wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 9:24 pm"on a roulette wheel at saturday night bingo."George Porgie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 3:56 pm"two wayward ping pong balls" is what got me to hit the mute button.
That was his whole line. The guy was something else.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge.George Porgie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 11:21 pmSo sorry I missed the second half of the line. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

The announcer was outstanding. No mumbling, never repeating himself...a real pro. His phrases as applied to wrestling were original and apropos in most instances. The 'color man' was obviously an Army guy but very fair. I honestly can't recall ever being so entertained by a set of announcers. That along with the excitement of the dual = high grade entertainment. The 'play by play' guy emphasized scoring moves with increased volume and excitement -- kinda mirrored what fans think and fell. We need more of this guy, not less. What's his name?

I couldn't agree more. He was hilarious! "Like serving Brussels sprouts at Monday morning mess hall!

I'm grateful for the announcer for the comic relief too. He is a true character. Bad sure, but definitely in a so bad it's good kind of way. Not what I would have picture for Army WP. And the color guy was genuinely excellent.
I think Scott Hovan does a great job for us (a mis-spoken name or two aside) and strikes a good balance. My favorite announcer of this year is probably the Oklahoma State guy. Really good on Lehigh history and overall. The only really "bad" announcer I can't listen to is the Bucknell guy - a homer if there ever was one and seemed cranky whenever something didn't go Bucknell's way last year.
